SSA Trade Capital is a very small, highly focused investment company deploying its own capital to support agricultural trade in Sub‑Saharan Africa. Since our investment activity first began in late 2020 and formalised in 2021, we have proudly facilitated growth and sustainability in the region’s agricultural sector through strategic, impactful investments.
We deploy capital into agricultural companies across Sub‑Saharan Africa, helping them strengthen their trading capacity and expand operations, providing them with the necessary capital to enhance their trading capabilities. Our targeted capital deployments help these businesses grow, innovate, and access new markets, driving economic progress from the ground up.

Fundamentally, we have worked to break barriers, which has been both rewarding and challenging.
our history
We began private proprietary capital deployment activity in late 2020, formalised operations in early 2021 and established the SSA Trade Capital brand in 2024. Our small deployments have supported a range of agricultural projects, which range from manufacturing and cultivation to supporting short and long-term trading between small and medium enterprises, to a brownfield export opportunity.
